Working with Hinrich Foundation since 2015, adidas Group supplier companies have partnered with Hinrich Foundation to sponsor 8 scholars in masters-level business and engineering programs in Vietnam. Focusing on talent from Myanmar, Cambodia, and Vietnam, this program is an effective channel to develop local talent across Southeast Asia.

Excellent value has been found in partnering with the Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City – where German professors with expertise in mechanical engineering provide a top-quality education for scholars. The majority of our scholars have enrolled in the Master of Science in Global Production Engineering and Management program here, while a couple are completing their Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Small Enterprise Promotion and Training.

A single scholar in this partnership has enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at the French Vietnamese Center of Management (CFVG).

Hinrich Foundation works with these leading adidas footwear manufacturers in Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar. These firms produce tens of thousands of pairs of shoes per month for adidas, providing employment for thousands of people.

Since 2014, Global Sources has supported 3 Hinrich Foundation Global Trade Leader scholars from China in the Master of Science in China Business Studies program at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

VF Corporation has partnered with Hinrich Foundation since 2014 to support six Bangladeshi scholars and one Indian scholar. VF saw a strong need for next generation local engineers and managers in its footwear factories in Bangladesh and across Asia.

Each scholar earned a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, improving factory operations at VF partner factories in Bangladesh and Cambodia.

De La Salle University

About the program: The MBA program aims to provide would-be and mid-level managers with a strong foundation in the concepts, principles, and competencies of business administration.

Who can apply: The Hinrich Foundation supports individuals from Cambodia to study at DLSU. We select mid-career managers who wish to augment their work experience with business fundamentals from a leading Asian business school.

The combination of practical experience, an MBA and their passion to help develop their country prepares them to promote sustainable global trade for the betterment of society.


Hong Kong Baptist University

About the program: The BBA curriculum provides students with core business courses, a broad-based general education and an opportunity to study a specialized business area. Furthermore, it instills a comprehensive knowledge of business and economic principles, management and behavioral science theory, quantitative and computer techniques, and language and communication skills.

Who can apply: Hinrich Foundation Scholars are selected from among the top students of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Upon graduation, scholars will gain practical trade-related skills as they start their careers with Global Sources.

This English-based business degree, the exposure of living in Hong Kong and supplemental work experience gives scholars a solid foundation to contribute to the sustainability of China’s impressive growth.


Tel Aviv University

About the program: Tel Aviv University (TAU) – Israel’s largest and most comprehensive institution of higher learning, ranked in top 20 in the world in terms of scientific citations and among the top 100 universities internationally – is home to over 30,000 students studying in nine faculties and over 125 schools and departments across the spectrum of sciences, humanities and the arts.

With Israel as our classroom and the Recanati Business School as our center-of-excellence, Tel Aviv’s Sofaer International MBA offers students the opportunity to prototype the skills and attitude necessary for a future whose only constant variable is change.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong

About the program: Founded in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a forward looking comprehensive research university with a global vision and a mission to combine tradition with modernity, and to bring together China and the West. CUHK teachers and students hail from all corners of the world. CUHK graduates are connected worldwide through an expansive alumni network.

As a top university in Hong Kong and Asia, CUHK aims to nurture students with both specialized knowledge and wisdom for life. The education experience here is distinguished by a flexible credit unit system, a college system, bilingualism and multiculturalism. There are general education courses to broaden students’ perspectives and develop in them the ability to face the challenges of contemporary society. Tsinghua University 

About the program: The Global Business Journalism program offers international students the opportunity to master the fine points of business, finance and economics in China. All courses are taught in English by renowned scholars and journalists who have extensive global experience. The facilities and equipment rival those of other leading journalism programs in the world. The program is full-time and spans two years of intense, fast-paced, rewarding study. Those who complete it successfully emerge with valuable connections, a rich array of opportunities and the skills to capitalize on them.

Who can apply: Working with Arizona State University, the Hinrich Foundation offers scholarships to graduates of the Water Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Students take their MA in Global Business Journalism in the heart of Beijing at prestigious Tsinghua University – one of the top three ivy-league institutions in China.

The academic, cultural and linguistic immersion gives scholars unprecedented insight into China and China media. All are given an internship in trade communication at one of Global Sources’ China offices.


Arizona State University

Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication

About the school: The Cronkite School is a nationally recognized professional program that prepares students for careers as reporters, editors, producers, correspondents, anchors, media managers and public relations specialists.

It is consistently ranked in the top 10 in the annual Hearst intercollegiate journalism competition, often called the Pulitzers of college journalism, finishing first in two of the past three years.


Chulalongkorn University

About the program: Aims to provide advanced training in management of key development issues, policy analysis, situational knowledge and administrative planning.

Who can apply: Hinrich Foundation’s Myanmar scholars who take the MA International Development Studies broaden their perspective of development opportunities and strategies. Through this program, they hope to help their country reintegrate into the global community and create prosperity through export trade.


The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

About the program: With relevant theories and up-to-date practical applications, the programme aims to equip students with systematic knowledge of business practices and the ability to analyze changes in government policies and regulations that affect business operations in China. Graduates of the programme should be able to evaluate developments in the Chinese business environment, and their impact on both domestic and foreign business organizations; identify and analyze ethical issues related to doing business in China; evaluate and be able to communicate the impact of culture on business and management practice, with particular emphasis on Sino-foreign business activities; and demonstrate a basic understanding of Chinese language.

Who can apply: The Hinrich Foundation encourage bright motivated Global Sources team members with a keen interest in international trade to apply for our comprehensive scholarship, skills training and career development opportunity. Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject. They must be fluent in English and able to meet all academic, entrance and other requirements of the university.


Vietnamese-German University

The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is a Vietnamese state university near Ho Chi Minh City in Binh Duong province. Founded in 2008, VGU is based on a close cooperation between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the German State Hessen. Within the past years the project broadened to a German-wide cooperation.

GPEM is an international program, open for students from all countries. The program prepares students for careers in international networks in the area of technology management. Rather than only focusing on business administration.

GPEM enables engineers to create systematic technological innovation combined with efficient and effective industrial business management. The curriculum of GPEM is designed for outstanding students seeking to improve their personal competence portfolio in the fields of production, management, engineering, and intercultural communication. VGU has worked with adidas group & its suppliers in Vietnam for Global Production Engineering and Management since 2013.
