My first thought when I learned I was awarded this scholarship
The total selection process was a long one, but in the end it was a very pleasant experience as I was selected for this prestigious scholarship.
Why I’m interested in trade
At this period in time, everyone is talking about the sustainable world in all spheres of life and it’s impossible if we ignore the importance of trade. In order to make this world a better place, it is important to minimize the economic disparity among the different classes of people and only sustainable global trade can do that.
What this scholarship opportunity means to me
If you want to develop yourself in this competitive world, the need of further education is one of the prime factors which could advance you. I was always wanted avail of that advantage in my career. But I never thought it would so soon and include so much practical.
Studying my masters from one of the most reputed universities in the Asia here in Hong Kong will definitely enrich my experience in terms culture, lifestyle and networking with different people around the world.
The international experiences I’m most looking forward to
I am looking forward to experiencing the cultural and social traditions here in Hong Kong.
What I’ll bring to my dorm to remind me of home
I already pasted some family pictures in front of my reading table, which remind me of my home and family every time I look at those and the blessings of technology (Skype, Whatsapp and Imo etc.) never let me feel lacking of my home and being with my family except one thing: food. So I want to fill my dorm refrigerator full with Bangladeshi food .
My favorite hobbies and other interests
Playing guitar, reading books, traveling to new cities, playing football, learning languages, watching movies, make new friendsand listening to music. I am the kind of person who never gets bored with doing new things and always remains busy.
My proudest achievement so far in life
Winning the Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholarship for MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Hong Kong Polytechnic University is my proudest achievement so far.
The largest obstacle I’ve overcome so far in life
I think the largest obstacle I have overcome so far is myself. I was a person who always wanted to be myself- extremely introverted and not easygoing. In some ways it is ok but most of the time it is awkward. However, I think I have improved a lot and become a better person in social and professional relationships.
My future goals and aspirations
I wish to work in the area of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and want to develop my own ERP someday.
How I plan to give back and help others
I want to give back my community and my educational institutions because they are the reason I am what I am today and will be in future. I have separate plans for them, like developing a free programming school in the community and a professional training and grooming course for the alumni and current students of my university.
