Selection of fashion bags in natural materials widens
As eco-consciousness continues to spread in the global market, Vietnam suppliers of fashion bags are adopting fibers from domestically available, renewable resources such as bamboo, rattan, seagrass and water hyacinth.
“Amid the growing number of buyers opting for sustainable, environment-friendly options, suppliers are offering more and more bags made of rattan, water hyacinth, seagrass and bamboo. The local availability of different natural materials also makes it easier to create different designs,” said Ly Nguyen, export consultant of the Hinrich Foundation.
In terms of style, choices range from large traditional beach bags and casual tote to small structured handbags and clutches suitable for a formal dinner as well as casual wear. Floral motifs remain a popular choice for beadwork, appliques and other embellishments.
For business bags, options include portfolios, briefcases, attaché cases, messenger bags and backpacks. Buyers looking for travel bags can choose from a wide range of softside and hardside luggage.
Enhancements in these two categories typically focus on functionality. Recent releases typically have multiple compartments, several of which are specifically designed to hold mobile devices, valuables and other items.
