MENUMENU

encouraging informed debate
through international trade research

This report on EU-China economic relations is based on an 18-month study by Bruegel, Chatham House, the China Center for International Economic Exchanges and the Institute of Global Economics and Finance at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

It identifies key trends and areas of potential economic collaboration between China and the European Union over the course of the next decade. While it highlights opportunities’ and benefits to deepening their economic ties, it also documents the obstacles which could frustrate increased collaboration. The report argues that building a genuine strategic partnership will require greater effort from both EU and Chinese leaders.
