According to IMF’s Regional Economic Outlook: Asia and Pacific 2018 report, the world and Asia’s near-term economic prospects have improved from 2017. Asia, in particular, continues to be the most dynamic region of the global economy, the report states. It is expected to grow by around 5.5 percent this year, accounting for nearly two-thirds of global growth.  However, key risks include further market corrections, shifts toward more protectionist policies and increasing geopolitical tensions.
