MENUMENU

encouraging informed debate
through international trade research

This OECD report looks at FDI trends and issues in the Southeast Asia region from the perspective of the investment climate and suggests ways that the issues can be addressed in order to converge both policies and outcomes in the region.

It benchmarks the treatment of foreign investors across Southeast Asia, both in terms of openness and with regard to the levels of investor protection offered by host governments. In addition, the report considers how ASEAN member states can improve their promotion of international investment, not just in volume terms but also by maximizing the development impact of that investment through spill-overs and linkages with local enterprises. Finally, it looks at infrastructure connectivity in Southeast Asia.
