My first thought when I learned I was awarded this scholarship
I was really excited with received the notice from HK PolyU and Hinrich Foundation. I felt very lucky and honor to be chosen as the scholar of Hinrich Foundation and have opportunity to have the further education after my 11 years working.

This scholarship opportunity has great meaning to me. I have the chance to take the further education based on my 11 years working experience, which will strengthen my knowledge background and benefit my working practice. This is meaningful for my career path development.
The international experiences I’m most looking forward to
During the one year study in HK, I am looking forward to board my international view and make friends with the students from all worldwide countries. Study together and work together in future.
What I’ll bring to my dorm to remind me of home
Definitely the family photo and iPad! Family is most of my world, and I will miss my daughter very much! So we will meet by FaceTime everyday. As my family is based in Shenzhen, whenever I can I will try to travel back to Shenzhen.
My favorite hobbies and other interests
I like traveling, skating, jogging, singing… a lot of hobbies, and I am planning to practice piano together with my daughter next year.
My proudest achievement so far in life

The largest obstacle I’ve overcome so far in life
No specific obstacle so far for me.
My future goals and aspirations
To finish the current study with good score and enriched knowledge and back to Global Sources to contribute more.
To travel with my family around the world in the coming 10 years, study while traveling
How I plan to give back and help others: Join the program for public good, continue to fund the qualified poor student. I funded a student for 6 years from her 14 to 20 years old, she received the offer the medical school successfully at 2013. I am so happy for her success.
Smiling to whatever I meet, be possible always! Difficulties and failures bring more benefits than success to me.
Story about Aki Han Lin
My name is HAN LIN (Aki Han) from Mainland China, married, with a lovely daughter of 3 years old.
One year after graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology with a double major of English and International Business and Trade, I joined Global Sources Exhibition at January 2005. From Shanghai to Hong Kong, from Hong Kong to worldwide, I spend my best lifetime and grow up with Global Sources Exhibition. 7 years work on marketing and 2 years work on business strategy on international trade makes me witness how positive the China export impacts on people’s life and strengthens my passion to contribute to our mission of promoting sustainable global trade continually and completely.
March 30, 2014, a BIG day for me. At that day. I applied the Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholarship in the program of Master of Science in China Business Studies at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Although I know that it is a big challenge for me to be back to school at my age and I need to balance my study and family very well, I am so eager about this quality education and comprehensive career development opportunities, and believe that my background on International Business and Trade, 10 years experience of global trade and career development planning are appropriate for the study.
I really appreciate this opportunity to be the scholar of Hinrich Foundation and conduct further study in fields of trade, communication and development in Asia, especially in China and have the desire to create more value on international trade after the course. I believe I can.
