Open Trade Asia Negotiation Simulation – Hong Kong 2018

Open Trade Negotiation Simulation is back in Hong Kong this February 24 & March 3, 2018 to be held at the elegant facilities of Asia Society Hong Kong Center!

60 university students from Hong Kong assume the role of a country’s trade ambassador and represent their country team in a trade negotiation simulation. Delegates become acquainted with global trade issues and get a deeper understanding of how trade benefits and affects society through this initiative by the Hinrich Foundation in partnership with Hong Kong America Center.

Topics discussed in Open Trade Asia Negotiation Simulations are always focused and aligned with current and relevant trade issues that deepen the delegates’ understanding of how trade functions Previously, disputes were categorized into “trade in goods” and “trade in services” which tackled consumer electronics, digital commerce, intellectual property and accounting services.

The negotiation scenarios for OTANS Hong Kong 2018 will be provided soon.

Open Trade Asia Negotiation – Hong Kong will be held on 2-consecutive weekends with the following dates:

Day 1 – February 24, 2018
Day 2 – March 3, 2018

The venue will be at the Asia Society Hong Kong Center, Admiralty, Hong Kong.

OTANS Hong Kong 2018 will once again gather 60 advanced undergraduate and master’s degree students from universities in Hong Kong to participate in a 2-day trade negotiation simulation.

Students with background in economics, business management, international relations, political science and related fields are invited to join OTANS. English proficiency is required.

The mission of the Hong Kong-America Center is to promote understanding between Hong Kong and American societies through educational and cultural exchanges. In so doing, the Center advances cross-cultural understanding between Chinese and Americans over the bridge of Hong Kong.
