Eligibility - Trade scholarships

Eligibility

  • Applicants’ passion for promoting global trade
  • Meeting all academic, entrance and other requirements of the university
  • Securing a US student visa. (Scholarships are awarded contingent upon the applicant being accepted by Thunderbird to study the MGM program, and securing a US student visa.)
  • Being fluent in English
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher in order to receive continued support
  • Commiting to a 6-month internship and working with Global Sources upon graduation for 2 years
Required documents - Trade scholarship

Scholarship support

  • Full scholarship supports offered (tuition fees, mandatory fees, monthly living and incidental allowance, airfare, visa and educational materials)
  • The full scholarship valued at approximately US$106,000 as follows:
  • Tuition @ $86,000* 60 percent Hinrich Foundation 40 percent Thunderbird Alumni Affinity Scholarship Program.
  • Living stipend @ $20,000 Hinrich Foundation

Important: The Scholar is responsible for transportation costs, visa fees, school materials and any other expenses above and beyond what is stipulated above.

* The Arizona Board of Regents has yet to establish 2015-16 tuition, but scholarship will cover 100% of tuition.

Requirement: If a posting is offered

  • 6-month internship
  • 2-year undertaking upon graduation with Global Sources or a partner company
  • Salary paid at local market rates
  • Should Scholars decline the employment offer, the full amount of the Scholarship must be repaid
