Hinrich Foundation’s scholarship workshop in Cambodia a success
This past Saturday, May 6, the Hinrich Foundation successfully held an information session for Cambodia citizens interested in obtaining a scholarship to the MSc in Global Production Engineering & Management (GPEM) program of the The scholarship is sponsored by the TBS Group and the Hinrich Foundation.
The event attracted interested in the scholarship. The participants actively asked questions about the scholarship and their career development after graduation.
Among the speakers at the scholarship workshop were Kall Kann, country director of Room to Read. Kann shared his thoughts on learning and education in Cambodia to inspire and motivate the participants.
Salum Lakk, a scholar of Room to Read, shared her positive experience on how she overcame difficulties to continue studying in Cambodia.
The audience also heard from , a Hinrich Foundation scholar who is now working for VF Corp. in Cambodia after getting a degree in Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. , he served as an inspiration to those who attended the workshop and gave them an example of the benefits and successful nature of the program.
The successful scholarship will undergo a six-month internship with while completing their studies. They are also guaranteed a job for three years after graduation.
“The practical ‘sandwich’ study model helps the graduates to have better academic studies and practical skills training. They may contribute more value to the company in less time than other graduates”, said Alex Boome, program director of Hinrich Foundation.
The next scholarship information session will be held in Yangon, Myanmar, on May 13, 2017.
