A time of growth and change

The Hinrich Foundation has experienced a year of much growth and excitement due to the introduction of many impressive new initiatives. As the Foundation continues to prosper, Mr. Hinrich has identified the need for an official Alumni Association to carry the mission of the Foundation forward into perpetuity.

The Hinrich Foundation Alumni Association (HFAA) has thus been created to ensure the long-term success of the organization via the bloodline that embodies the mission and spirit of the Foundation – the scholars and alumni. The Education Program just crossed the 100th scholar mark in 2015 and the strength and size of the program continues to improve each year!

Mr. Hinrich noted that active engagement by the scholars and alumni will ensure that the scholarship, education, and career development that each individual receives will go much further. To prompt such engagement, the Alumni Leadership Committee (ALC) has been formed to guide the HFAA forward and act as a unified voice that will influence the continued success of the Foundation.

The celebration

In order to properly promote and celebrate the event, I worked with closely with Alex Boome (Program Director), Mai Nguyen (Education & Training Manager), Thu Do (Education Coordinator), and the entire ALC to coordinate the Foundation’s first multi-national event!

In an effort to include as many alumni, scholars, program team members and other key stakeholders in the official HFAA Launch Event, we arranged celebrations in 7 different cities – Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Phnom Penh, Chittagong & Yangon. We worked with Alumni Captains in each city to secure classy venues to host the gatherings, and ended up having over 75% of our members attend!

The events incorporated a variety of activities, including a live stream of Mr. Hinrich’s remarks from the celebration in Hong Kong, real-time social media posting by members, a brief presentation by the Alumni Captain and vibrant interaction among all in attendance! It was truly awesome to see our members from across the region celebrating the official launch of the HFAA at the same time, embracing the sense of community that has been built through Hinrich Foundation.

HFAAcollageThe future ahead

It was amazing to successfully coordinate the first multi-national event for the Foundation and receive such positive feedback from all seven celebrations. The gatherings strengthened the sense of fellowship as well as the positive outlook for the future of the Foundation, leaving everyone with a feeling of revitalized optimism and excitement.

Propelled by an enthusiastic Alumni Association, a promising Alumni Leadership Committee, and a dedicated Program Team, the future of the Hinrich Foundation is certainly bright!
