Vietnam toys sourcing report highlights product safety and quality
Online report features plush animals, puzzles, building sets and other decorative and educational toys, plus a listing of more than 100 export suppliers
The online report includes a listing of 102 export suppliers and profiles educational and decorative toys. It also features industry information, new product features, price guides and export data. PDFs of each section are available to download for free online.
Suppliers in the listing include companies offering plush animals, vehicles, musical instruments, dolls and accessories, puzzles, push and pull toys, building sets and robots.
One supplier in Ho Chi Minh City, Fagi, offers soft toys with cotton exteriors and polyester filling. Namhoa Trading and Production’s selection of wooden toys, meanwhile, includes puzzles, building sets and dollhouses.
Report highlights compliance with international standards
Safety is top of mind in toy design and manufacturing among makers in Vietnam. Export-oriented suppliers offer products compliant with international standards such as CE, ASTM and EN 71.
To meet the requirements of their markets, some suppliers of wooden toys are importing paint from Thailand and Malaysia. Makers of plastic toys are using phthalate-free materials.
Vietnam has more than 80 toy companies that have received a quality stamp from the Vietnam Certification Centre or QUACERT, which provides certification services for organizations that have complied with national and international standards or technical regulations.
The report further shows:
– Toys that encourage children to exercise and be creative are the focus of product development at many companies.
– Vietnam exported about $859.8 million worth of toys, sports requisites and related parts and accessories in the first 11 months of 2016.
– The US, Japan, the UK, Germany and Canada are among the major overseas destinations of toys and sports requisites from Vietnam.
