Makers offer practical, user-friendly features

Vietnam basketware suppliers are making their products more convenient to use by incorporating special compartments, straps and other components. Releases include multipurpose models as well as those meant to hold specific items such as bread or wine.

The latest products include wine bottle holders with dividers for multiple bottles. Serving trays are designed with compartments for cutlery and other types of dinnerware.

Laundry hampers are fitted with lids and removable lining. Some are offered with matching basketware for holding laundry supplies, tissue rolls and other items.

In terms of materials, the selection includes natural and synthetic options. As environmental consciousness becomes more widespread, more makers are opting for bamboo, rattan, water hyacinth and other materials that are considered sustainable.

“The trend now is using eco-friendly natural materials such as bamboo, water hyacinth, seagrass and rattan to create highly practical baskets and organizers for bread, fruit, laundry, tissue and wine bottles,” said Ly Nguyen, export consultant of the Hinrich Foundation.
