Themed patterns, novelty shapes on trend
Gift packaging suppliers in Vietnam are expanding their selections of themed gift packaging. Releases include designs meant for birthdays, weddings, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. Among the latest products are bags and boxes meant for specific food and non-food items.
Efforts in line with this trend have given rise to various novelty shapes. These products include heart-shaped boxes for confectioneries, baked goods and other gifts for Valentine’s Day. Animal-shaped models for rings and other pieces of jewelry are also being offered.
Amid rising environmental awareness in various markets, gift packaging suppliers are opting for recycled paper to produce their boxes and bags. Biodegradable PP is being adopted for plastic types. The selection of bamboo boxes that can be reused as decorative storage solutions is also expanding.
“With many mergers and acquisition deals in and foreign investment into Vietnam’s packaging industry, I expect the gift packaging sector will have a very good growth potential in the years to come,” said Ly Nguyen, export consultant of the Hinrich Foundation.
