Releases combine simplicity, comfort
Wooden furniture suppliers in Vietnam are offering more modern pieces, which are characterized by simple structures and minimal accents. Designs with oiled finishes that highlight the natural color of the wood are popular.
“Makers are releasing simple, functional pieces to meet the preference of most international buyers,” said Ly Nguyen, export consultant of the Hinrich Foundation. “This allows suppliers to focus on enhancing the durability of their products. Having simpler structures and finishes also reduces production lead time.”
Among the latest indoor furniture releases are sectional sofa sets, which can be configured in various ways and provide different seating options. A number of these are mixed-media pieces combining wood and metal in the frame.
For gardens, patios and other outdoor areas, foldable structures are on trend.
Makers use various types of wood. Acacia, oak, rubberwood and pine are some of the options for indoor pieces. Outdoor furniture often come in teak, eucalyptus or acacia.
