Personal statement

I am honored to be a recipient of the Hinrich Foundation Global Trade Leader Scholarship to study Master of International Business at the University of Auckland. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and Post-Graduate Diploma of Management specializing in corporate governance at Monash University.

I have over 12 years’ of banking industry experience in South Africa where my previous role was managing cooperation relationships with other commercial banks as well as sovereign institutions in facilitating international trade business and FDI between Asia and Africa. A clear necessity for better organizational decision-making inspired me to pursue the Master of International Business. I will make wise use of the Hinrich Foundation’s support to study and obtain international business knowledge and leadership skills.

My aspirations align with the Hinrich Foundation’s mission of “promoting sustainable global trade.” Upon graduation from the University of Auckland, I look forward to pursuing a career in a global trade finance-related field with the expertise and knowledge obtained from the degree. As a Hinrich Foundation alumnus, I will leverage resources such as events and the alumni network to establish links between stakeholders, bringing them together to build trust so sustainable trade business takes place. I will contribute to the foundation’s mission and make a difference in the global trade sector.
