My first thought when I learned I was awarded this scholarship

My first thought when I learned I was awarded this scholarship:I thought I got a great chance to learn the development subjects that is very useful for me and for my country when Myanmar is trying to walk on the democracy way. I was so eager to learn the development especially trade in economics sector and thanks to Hinrich Foundation for creating opportunity for my life turning point to get a chance for further study and develop my career.

Why I’m interested in trade

I use to write the business field as a journalist and I think only trade sector can improve the country economics by open up the market and international relation after long time of being isolated country in both politics and economics. It can create job opportunity for local people, promote the original products of the country and help the country’s reforming by promoting economic growth through trading that can made people’s life lift up and can participate in political reform also. Finally, it can lead to shape the democracy when people lives are improved in basis needs, they will be more interested in participating policy making. In this way, the freedom of expression will be more strong that means democratization is success base on promoting the trade and policies.

What this scholarship opportunity means to me

Its pulls me up my condition for establishing milestones in my life. I feel the purpose of Hinrich Foundation “Promoting Sustainable Global Trade” is reflected me completely because it meet my aim to contribute in sustainable international economic development sector especially in trade.

The international experiences I’m most looking forward to

I would like to learn and establish my international experience in sustainable trade sector especially in one of this countries : Laos and Cambodia. Because this countries are similar situation with Myanmar. They even already forward a little base on the country’s openness. I want to know how they are managing their economics infrastructure to meet the challenges in ASEAN free trade agreement. I want to build up my knowledge about their weakness and strong point in developing sustainable development especially how to promote the country’s original preference (e.g. handmade products sector and garment sector). In the future, I can apply my knowledge by participating in Myanmar economics sector to be sustainable and analyzing development based on the lesson learned from competitive countries. This is my eagerness to get international experience in one of this country after I graduate.

What I’ll bring to my dorm to remind me of home

I bring Shwe Dagon Pagoda photo to my dorm remind me of home because I am Buddhist and Shwedagon is one of the symbols and memorial of my home place.

My favorite hobbies and other interests

I especially interested in reading and travelling. In travelling, my interest is visiting to remote area of the countries, talk with local people and eat their traditional food and enjoy natural mountains or sea. I also interested in history and culture of the countries. In culture, I interest local people’s traditional way of practice in their daily life, what they value and what they passionate about. I like to go every historical place of countries also.

My proudest achievement so far in life

Getting the scholarship award from Hinrich Foundation is my proudest one. Because I got chance to study in Chulalongkorn University which is the most famous in Thailand and I can continue from my bachelor degree to master degree in the way of international academic study.

The largest obstacle I’ve overcome so far in life

I have so many obstacles when I worked as journalist. Not really largest, but to meet the deadline when I am facing difficult to get the comments from sources is the most headache times in my life.

My future goals and aspirations

I intend to get international working experiences especially in Laos and Cambodia. After that, I would like to contribute in economics development sector of Myanmar.

How I plan to give back and help others

I plan to help other by sharing my knowledge about what I learned in my study through writing article as freelance.
