I am grateful and honored to be awarded the Hinrich Global Trade Leader scholarship. I will seize this great opportunity to leverage myself and become a global trade leader.

I study marketing at Hong Kong Baptist University with a Hinrich Foundation Global Trade scholarship. As a student and intern, I seek opportunities to learn about and promote sustainable global trade.

My courses teach me crucial aspects of the global trade system, such as creating need and satisfying it with products of value. My internship at Global Sources provided a chance to experience the global trade system firsthand; for example, I realized the process of matching buyers and the suppliers is important but difficult. I also learned that a well-functioning online platform makes processes easier, and that the internet business is becoming a trend in global trade.

To explore the amazing internet business, I became an HR intern at MI, a Chinese electronics company that specializes in mobile phones and apps. Assisting in the implementation of a training program at MI gave me an overall image of the mobile internet industry. I was impressed by MI’s way of doing business – it differentiates itself with products of extremely high cost and unique social media marketing, which attracts many customers and creates an international presence.

In the future, I expect to join the internet industry to promote global trade with the power of technology. I would love to hear insights and advice from experts in the industry and communicate with them daily. It would be fantastic to have an opportunity to join the business, and I am grateful this scholarship takes me one step closer to my goal.
