Why I’m interested in trade

Trade provides a greater variety of goods to people and brings people from different parts of the world closer.

This scholarship is a great support for me to pursue my dream of acquiring more knowledge and developing my ability in business area.

The international experiences I’m most looking forward to

The international experiences I’m most looking forward are having some gathering activities like go hiking and having picnic with other scholars, working on projects with people from different countries, taking part in some international conferences, and participating in some international company visits to see how the company operates.

What I’ll bring to my dorm to remind me of home

I will bring the scarf that my mother bought me. When I wear the scarf, the warmness I feel is just like my mother’s sweet love for me.

My favorite hobbies and other interests

My hobbies are playing table tennis, climbing mountains and making new friends.

The largest obstacle I’ve overcome so far in life

The largest obstacle I’ve overcome so far in life is my shyness. I have been more sociable and confident and I am very happy about that.

My future goals and aspirations

My goal is to be more professional in business area, be more confident when making public speeches and promote sustainable global trade with my teammates.

How I plan to give back and help others

I will give back and help others by giving more attention to people who are in weak position in global trade, thinking about solutions to improve their life and doing a great job during the internship and the work after graduation.

Personal statement

I felt extremely excited when I received the email informing me that I was one of the Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholars. In front of me is a totally new journey that makes me curious, excited and also a little nervous. After one month in Hong Kong, I am totally fascinated with the life here. People of this program are very friendly and caring. We had a wonderful gathering dinner last time and I look forward to the activities that we will participate together.

Story about Wu Haoqi

WU Haoqi (Amy) is a Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholar who studies in Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in Global and China Business. In 2014, she received the Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholarship. She will get her BBA degree in 2016.

Before she was offered this scholarship, she studied in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies for two years with a major in International Business. She has strong interests in international trade and marketing. Besides, she likes helping others. She has participated in a lot of voluntary activities in the university, like voluntary teaching and convention reception.

In the future, she hopes to acquire more knowledge in business area and develop her communication and management abilities. Besides, she wants to explore the international cultures in Hong Kong and make more new friends. She believes that the internship and activities in these two years will be very helpful when she starts her career and pursues her dream of promoting sustainable global trade.
