Personal statement

Being a HF Scholar isn’t just about studying and getting involved in the HF community. It also means that you undertake the mission of Hinrich Foundation – wherever we go, whenever it is – we should promote the cross-boarder trade with sustainability and always remember to give back to the community that we thrive on. I’m proud to be part of HF community. I’m also proud to be part of the positive influence to shape the global trade industry.

Story about Xiuqi Zhou (Kathy)

Zhou Xiuqi (Kathy) 1

As a girl who was born in a small city alongside the Southern China costal line, when I was a teenager, I always imaged how the world looks like on the other side of the sea. A great amount of people from my hometown have immigrated oversea to earn their livings decades ago and a lot of them have become extremely successful in the business world. When I heard their stories from my parents’ mouth, I always wished someday I could have chance to travel to the other side of the sea and experience the life that I only could heard from the elders. My dream has never been this close to me until I have become a HF Scholar! HF has not only brought me to see how the world looks like in the other side of the sea, moreover, it also equips me with knowledge and hands-on skills to have my own influence on the real business world. If I could have chance to speak to the 12 year-old me, I would tell her “Don’t stop dreaming and don’t’ stop your endeavor to pursue your dream, because your dream will come true one day and you will eventually have more strength to dream bigger!”
