Personal statement

I grew up in a rustic small town in Tien Giang Province of the Mekong Delta. Like many settlements in this area, my hometown is considered by many visitors to be an idyllic setting with beautiful islets of fruit orchards and friendly local people. However, behind this picturesque facade is poverty. I recognized even at an early age the utmost exigency of education not only for my career, but also for helping my family and community to get out of poverty.

I started my journey with Tien Giang High School for The Gifted, then University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. I am working as a Procurement Assistant Manager for NSG Vietnam Glass Industries, a multinational company. I realized that with the advances in technology and globalization, the world is moving so fast in increasing complexity. To become a strong leader in the management field, I have to adapt to the rapid changes of international trade and diverse cultures by acquiring professional experience and skills.

I am pursuing the Master of Global Trade as I am sure that this program will provide me with knowledge of cultural negotiation, international logistics and business data analytics, among others. I will also be fully equipped with the best practical skills to work efficiently in commercial terms and sustainable development. With the scholarship and community of experts from the Hinrich Foundation, I will be able to build a solid foundation that is necessary to achieve my goals and ambitions.
