Personal statement

My six years of professional experience in the cross-border e-commerce sector, coupled with the invaluable support of the Hinrich Foundation Scholarship at INSEAD, will position me to advance sustainable global trade in a significant way.

During my tenure at Shopee Singapore, I had the opportunity to work in a regional role, spanning six Southeast Asian countries. My role involved facilitating Chinese brands' expansion into the SEA market. Subsequently, at Google Shanghai, I continued to support Chinese exporters in their global endeavours. These experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within global trade, particularly from the perspective of Chinese retailers.

My ambition is to leverage my education at INSEAD to address a critical challenge in the cross-border e-commerce industry in China – the creation of a global brand image and effective management of global diversity to foster sustainable growth. Upon completing my MBA, I aspire to join a renowned retail brand's Leadership Development Program to gain insights into the global operations and strategies of well-established brands.

In the long term, I aim to take a leadership role in helping Chinese brands expand their global footprint sustainably. The Hinrich Foundation Scholarship's support, combined with the resources offered by INSEAD, will play a pivotal role in my journey. The INSEAD MBA will not only equip me with the necessary short-term career resources but also provide access to a diverse alumni network spanning over 75 countries. This global perspective will be invaluable in achieving my long-term goal by promoting responsible global trade practices and fostering collaboration between countries and industries.

With the Hinrich Foundation scholarship and the education I will receive at INSEAD, I am poised to make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of sustainable global trade, particularly in Asia, where my expertise and experiences are deeply rooted.
