Key highlights

A diverse learning environment

A typical Global MBA cohort includes students from eight nationalities representing more than 20 industries. On average, these mid-career professionals have nine years of work experience. Many lead a variety of organizations around the world, including large multinational companies, fast-growing startups and public entities.

Global leadership practicum

Core to the Global MBA experience is the Multidisciplinary Action Projects, a capstone course that provides first-year MBA students with a unique action-based learning experience. Teams of students work on real-world business challenges or opportunities for sponsoring companies over a seven-week period, focusing on market entry, business growth, supply chain and program development. Most recent paying clients were from New Zealand, Thailand, South Korea and the United States.

International exchange opportunities

The master’s program includes two compulsory study trips: one within the United States and one overseas. Onsite classroom instruction is facilitated by Michigan Ross faculty and complemented by visits to companies in various sectors, lectures from faculty in the region, and interactions with local students and the University of Michigan alumni based in the country.

In the last term of the program, Global MBA students are eligible for the Global Semester Exchange where they can study abroad at one of more than 20 partner universities. Options include leading private business schools and public universities across Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America.
