Geopolitics and techno-nationalism
In partnership with the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents in the US, the Hinrich Foundation have developed a program, featuring Research Fellow Alex Capri, that covers the forces shaping techno-nationalism and how it's splintering global trade.
In this educational program, foreign correspondents and international journalists will be introduced to the dynamics that are defining modern-day techno-nationalism, which is reshaping trade, geopolitics, and society.
Alex Capri will discuss how a US-China hybrid cold war is fragmenting global value chains as he highlights strategic decoupling of supply chains, data flows, and the platform economy. By examining recent developments regarding semiconductors, Capri will discuss what comes next regarding the reshoring and ring-fencing of strategic industries.
